About LH cosmetics

No ingredients nor products from LH cosmetics are or will be tested on animals by us or by any party. LH cosmetics products are cruelty free and will always be. We care about the animals.

All ideas, concepts and design originate from the LH cosmetics team in Sweden led by makeup artist Linda Hallberg. All our formulas are produced in Italy and Germany.

When we claim that a lipstick can also be used on the eyes and cheeks, we have carried out tests to ensure that the product is approved for that specific use. There are a lot of regulations regarding what ingredients and pigments you can use where. Thus, you cannot take for granted that all lipsticks on the market can be used everywhere. It must be tested and evaluated beforehand to ensure it is safe to use in a certain way.

When we claim that a product can be used on eyes, cheeks, brows and lips, we have carried out tests to ensure that the product is approved and safe for that specific use. There are a lot of restrictions regarding what ingredients and pigments you can use where and there can be variations in regulations. Our products are safe to multi-use on the specified areas according to EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) N° 1223/2009.

Our products are safe to multi-use on the specified areas according to EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) N° 1223/2009. However, there can be differences between the regulations. Therefore, some shades may not be approved for multi-use or used in a particular area according to other regulations such as FDA.

The way the color appears in the product pictures can vary from how it will look on you. It depends, among other things, on differences in skin tone, lip color and light. We have chosen to show the products on different models so that you as a customer can see how the colors can vary.

Honestly, our idea was to simplify shade names and just call them by the actual shade. But depending on formulation, product and finish, the shades will differ so we might have just  it more complicated for you and us. Oops 😉 For instance, a Dusty pink shade can differ between products in our range but we’ve tried to match them well so the crayon Dusty pink will match nicely with the Dusty pink lipsticks.

Ingredients

All of our products incl. the brushes are vegan.

Almost all LH cosmetics products are free from perfume and we are aiming for perfume-free products when possible. Some raw materials may have an unpleasant smell. In some cases, we therefore add a small amount of fragrance or aroma. For more information regarding specific products, a list of ingredients in our formulas can be found on the product pages on our website and on the packaging of the product. The names of these ingredients are fragrance or flavor/aroma.

In almost all of LH cosmetics products, no sources of gluten are intentionally added. However, we can unfortunately not guarantee that there are no traces of gluten. In general, products containing gluten and intended for cosmetics use do not represent a risk for individuals with coeliac disease.

None of LH cosmetics products contain formaldehyde.

None of LH cosmetics products contain phtalates.

Most LH cosmetics products do not contain D5 and/or D6 and for future products we formulate without these substances.

We have 100% vegan products, meaning our ingredients are never animal derived. The use of plant or synthetic derived ingredients varies depending on the product and raw material supplier.

LH cosmetics products comply with the EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) N° 1223/2009, all products are carefully and thoroughly tested for safety before put on the market.

Parabens is a preservative that is used to prevent the growth of harmful bacteria and mold, in order to protect both the products and consumers. The use of palm oil often comes with a cost such as deforestation, loss of species, indigenous people being forced off their land, pollution and climate change. However, WWF has stated that alternative oil, such as soybean or coconut oil, requires between 4 to 10 times more land to get the same amount of oil. Using alternative oil thereby results in shifting the environmental problems to other parts of the world. In order to reduce the negative effects of palm oil, WWF has helped to set up the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) that has developed a set of international standards for responsible palm oil production. Some of our products are formulated with palm oil derivatives. For every new development we use RSPO-certified palm oil/derivates. The suppliers are members of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil.

We strive to use synthetic Mica but when it isn’t possible, we only use Mica that is certified according to the Responsible Mica Initiative. This Mica should be sourced responsibly and according to legislation. The supplier of Mica has committed to extinguishing child labor and to improve the living conditions where the Mica originates from. For example, it is used in Interstellar to enhance the glitter effect, so we don’t need to use plastic glitter. In Fantastick it is used as a colorant.

No there is not. If there is nano in the Titanium dioxide it should be stated on the list of ingredients since this is required according to the legislation within Europe.

Packaging

Our products always come to you in a folding box to ensure that all information needed is provided on the packaging as well as keeping the products safe. We are constantly striving to implement FSC-certified paper in both palettes and folding boxes. The FSC certification implies that the paper is harvested from forests that are responsibly managed, socially beneficial, environmentally conscious and economically viable. We are committed to always using FSC certified paper when possible. Our goal is that all paper used in our products will be FSC certified in the future.

When the packaging is certified, you will find the logo on the packaging stating its certification. You will also see this certification on the brushes since the wood handles are FSC certified.

The choice of primary packaging depends on the formula and it can be a tube, paper palette, compact, vial, etc. We are always striving to make the containers of our products more sustainable. For example, we are implementing FSC certified cardboard on our future production of eyeshadow palettes. We aim to use as few types of materials as possible to ease recyclability and to use as sustainable materials as possible without losing quality and/or usability.

Since there can be local differences regarding how to recycle products, please advise your local officials. In Sweden you can leave your finished or unfinished makeup at selected stores such as Kicks and they will be handled appropriately.

In general, you’ll need to separate the different materials. For example, in the Infinity lip gloss, the silicone applicator needs to be removed before recycling the tube as plastic.

So far, the supply of packaging with PCR content is limited and where it consists of PCR plastics, it is only a few percentages. All our suppliers strive to achieve more sustainable packaging, without losing in quality or affecting the stability of the formula.

Currently we don’t offer refills, but we are investigating the possibilities for future productions.
